You may have heard the term "DVT," but understanding what it actually is can be life-saving. 🩺

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a medical condition that occurs when a blood clot forms in one of the deep veins of your body—most commonly in the legs. Unlike surface-level veins, these deep veins are buried within your muscle tissue and are responsible for carrying the majority of blood back to your heart.

Why is it dangerous?
If a portion of that clot breaks off, it can travel through your bloodstream and lodge in your lungs, causing a serious complication known as a Pulmonary Embolism (PE).
